Maquete da Catedral Cristo Rei é submetida a teste em Túnel de Vento

Técnicos do Laboratório de Aerodinâmica das Construções da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFGRS), realizaram o teste do Túnel de Vento para avaliar os efeitos de condições climáticas na estrutura da Catedral Cristo Rei.

Durante o teste, uma maquete da Catedral foi colocada em um túnel e submetida à pressão do vento. Sensores instalados na maquete indicaram quais seriam a pressão real sobre a construção que terá uma altura de 100 metros. Os estudos incluem simulações feitas em computador.O teste é importante para indicar como a estrutura deverá ser erguida, para ter total segurança.

No terreno da Catedral Cristo Rei, estão sendo realizados testes de impacto sobre os pilates que irão sustentar a construção.
